Garden Party
An OESD Event

You're invited to a Garden Party.

This is a 2 day event with Linda, a certified embroidery expert with OESD.

Event days are Friday, August 14 and Saturday, August 15, 9am to 4pm.

Doors open at 8:30. Attendees should arrive early and be seated by 8:50.

You do not need prior machine embroidery experience to attend this event. We are inviting sewing and embroidery enthusiasts at all skill levels. We will have plenty of help in the class room.

In this two-day event, you will create six different projects while you learn valuable embroidery tips and techniques to make your projects more successful and more fun. Learn how to choose the right products for most techniques and be inspired by the Linda's trunk show showing a wide variety of embroidery projects.

The event fee includes kits for all six projects. Each project kit will have stabilizer, fabric, and thread for all six projects, the Garden Party Design Collection, and printed color handouts with the instructions. You'll also receive a stabilizer brochure and other goodies!

A boxed lunch, snacks, drinks, and water are also included in the event fee.

What do you bring? Absolutely nothing! We will be providing Brother embroidery machines and the use of our scissors and any other notions that you will need to complete your projects.

What can you expect? Door prizes, cute projects, a bit of education, and lots of fun. We are setting up 10 machines with a maximum of 3 students per machine.

Seating is limited to 30 students.

CQ Sew Creative Software Club
Madeleine Double Wedding Ring

This is the fourth class in this series of software club classes working on the center portion of Karen Charles' Madeleine Double Wedding Ring quilt.

The class meets Tuesday, June 9, from 10:30 to 1:30.

In this class students will be using the designs from Madeleine by Inspira to create the center of the beautiful Double Wedding Ring quilt designed by Karen Charles. We will be using the Modify module to shape the flowers into a tear drop shape, the Create module to put in an alignment marker, and Extra to create the rings. We'll also use the Create module to create quilting designs.

Once we are finished creating the quilt, a follow-up class will be scheduled to stitch out the quilt. You'll learn how to use the alignment markers to line up multiple hoopings and how to quilt your quilt with your embroidery machine. Sew much to learn!

Madeleine is a whole cloth quilt measuring 42” square.

This class is for owners for Premier+2 Ultra who purchased their software from Cottage Quilts. You must have attended the first class in January.

Students need to bring their laptop, power cord, mouse, and a USB stick. Plus bring paper and pencil for notes.

CQ Therapy

Come in and get a little sewing or embroidery therapy, Tuesday June 23 from 10:30 to 4:30.

Students can work on any project along with Carolyn. It can be sewing, embroidery, or hand work.

$5.00 fee reserves a table for you.

12 session Block of the Month class with Carolyn

Class meets Wednesdays from 10:30 to 2:30 on February 5, March 4, June 17, July 1, July 15, August 19, September 9, September 23, October 14, November 11, December 9, and January 13 (2021).

Dream about your summer garden with this delightful mix of pieced blocks and appliqued panels. Tucked among the summer coneflowers, you'll find butterflies, busy bees, and a garden snail or two.

The blocks are a Marti Michell design that are pieced using a set of her templates. The corners of the templates are already trimmed for you making it so easy to line up each patch.

Class instruction each month includes a demo on cutting and piecing your blocks.

We'll start the applique panels in month 7 with instructions on several different ways to applique.

Day Dreams is suitable for your favorite method of applique. Use hand techniques, fusible web with a machine decorative stitch, or invisible machine applique with freezer paper. The shapes have gentle curves and no points. It's perfect for a quick project or the beginning appliquer!

The per month kit fee for Day Dreams is $24.99 per month. By month 12 you will have all the fabrics for the top and binding. The fabrics are from the Hyde Park collection by Moda. They are not the fabrics shown in this photo.

Homegrown Class #3

1 session class with Carolyn

Class meets Tuesday, June 30 from 10:30 to 3:30

This is the third in the series of 12 classes for Homegrown, an applique quilt by Sue Spargo embellished with hand embroidery. This month we will continue working on appliqueing and embroidering our blocks

The book was written for hand applique and hand embroidery, but the quilt can be done by machine as well. If you are doing fusible applique by hand or machine, you will need to reverse the block patterns found in the back of the book.

Each class will include demos of a variety of embroidery stitches, discussions on applique techniques, and plenty of time to work on the blocks.

You get to choose which sessions to attend. There is a $25 fee per class.

Moroccan Sunset

Class meets Wednesdays, February 12, March 18, June 10, July 8, and August 26 from 10:30 to 2:30.

Moroccan Sunset is a block of the month quilt made with your embroidery machine. The last step with your embroidery machine is adding the backing and the machine will quilt your block.

There is a teacher's fee of $50.00 and then a per month fee of $25.00 for the embroidery designs.

You will work on 1 or 2 blocks in each class and the remaining blocks for the month will be stitched at home. Students are encouraged to stay until 4:30 to keep working on their blocks.

Premier+2 Owner's Class
Lesson 1, Part 1

Class meets Tuesday, June 2, 2020

We're starting with the basics with this lesson. We will look at Configure, Explorer Plug-in, and Thread Cache.

Please be sure your software is installed before the day of this class.

You will need to bring your laptop, power cord, mouse (a mouse is a must), USB stick, extra battery for your mouse, and pencil and paper for notes.

3 session class with Nancy

Class meets Wednesdays, July 22, 29, and August 5.

Join Nancy to create this delightful quilt based on Scandinavian Folk designs. The finished quilt is about 58" x 58".

Students will need to purchase The Little Things kit. We are starting to cut them, so please reserve your kit as soon as possible.

Vintage Boardwalk Class

Class meets Fridays:
June 19, 26, July 3, 10, and 17
from 10:30 to 4:30.

Take a leisurely stroll along a vintage boardwalk with this darling quilt by Kimberbell Designs.

In this class we will be working on a section of the quilt each week. You'll be using many machine embroidery techniques: embroidery applique, fringe stitches, pocket blocks, chenille, and freestanding dimensional decorations. You'll also be adding cute buttons and pull flowers.

We are cutting the kits this week. Make sure you let me know to reserve the book, embellishment kit, and fabric kit as soon as possible.
